The Maçarico Francesinha Sauce is a Portuguese creation – a blend prepared with spices and spirits with rich lingering notes.
On a plate place a slice of bread and overlaps the following ingredients in the order given: sliced cheese, ham, sausage or laminated grilled or fried fresh sausage, beef steak or pork grilled or fried again cheese and finally a slice of bread. Cover with sliced cheese and pour a lot of francesinha sauce over the sandwich. Bake to melt / gratin the cheese. Serve hot.
You can serve with fried egg on top and accompany with fries. If you want a more spicy Francesinha, add Piri-Piri Maçarico to the sauce.
